Although the release of Mary's 2003 album already imminent, I have yet again recommended their 2001's "No More Drama", a hip-hop soul plate of 1st class. We have all heard the 1.Single "Family Affair", a dancefloor classic, which in (almost) every club (I even Drum'n'Bass mixes I heard) at all times works perfectly, "Dance For Me", from style similar, but weaker, and the dramatic goosebumps ballad "No More Drama". More Burner are "Steal Away" by simply unique Pharrell Williams, the combative Rockwilder track "Keep It Movin" and "Testimony". Well staged also are "Never Been" (Missy Elliott) and "2U", a walking under the skin, but a bit jazzy ballad guessed. But there are also weak points, such as "In The Meantime". Nevertheless, "No More Drama" an (almost) perfect album with influences from soul (we find, for example, an Al Green sample in "PMS"), hip-hop, jazz and gospel, the whole is still Mary and with it entitles the successor their idols Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Marvin Gaye or Stevie Wonder departure.
