I have dealt in theory for about four years with media players, but this is the first device that I bought myself. My claims are generally not very high, but some potentially something abseitig: As I see movies completely exclusively in original sound, the broad support of subtitles is already a criterion that often was a KO criterion in the past. Added to this was the lack of support for new audio formats. If you buy yourself a 2013 player, 3D support is certainly appropriate - finally can eventually all devices in the processing chain, why would you want to make an exception for a new purchase. Is for me to date no important criterion (as my AV Rec eg not yet has come, but in the near future followed by a beamer (3D) and the exchange of AVRev, then also 3D), but "sustainable" by not despise.
My requirements are met the Dune substantially. There are the critics from the other problems of the DTS-HD MA, resulting in dropouts or pops. However: First, there is statistical nonsense that the most common format is (BDs come - inexplicably - very often just now without DTS-HD MA out). Second, there are already workarounds for the latest firmware (in the appropriate thread in the AVS Forum, for example, read). Third is exactly this bug the "famous" Dune and will be more than a lot of effort to be ironed smooth. For other minor problems are quickly emerged hotfixes, the support of Dune and the community around it seems very easy to fold.
What else is there to report? By formats it has no problems if ISO, Folder structure, MKV, ... goes with subtitles also not even changing soundtracks and subtitles tracks clean and fast (in this example had players earlier sometimes violent problems). The remote control is ok, but I reprove soon anyway to Harmony, far remote layout and material are to me rather matter. The player comes in standard hi-fi format (43cm width) and therefore fits well so far in a corresponding device landscape (many other players are trying very chic and small, possibly even to be around, I've never seen as an advantage). The operation goes quite quickly, so no waiting, nothing increased.
I Yadis installed for my movie collection, so that the player also gets a nice movie jukebox interface. This works, of course, without any further problems. Zappiti would be an alternative.
Four points currently, wg. the DTS-HD MA bugs. , I suspect, however, that I can emphasize within the next 6 weeks and then there are five.
--- Addendum 23.02.2013 ---
There are since yesterday and yesterday a new firmwares (yet: beta), which eliminates the DTS-HD MA Bug. Therefore - as expected - now from my perspective and my OA use Scenario 5 instead of 4 stars. As the "smaller" 303D the HD sound is not in the specification, but real support, the device would actually have been more suitable for me, though less "beautiful", because just no hi-dimensions.
