In the absence of plasma TVs in 55 "at a reasonable price, the decision fell to the LG LCD / LED DirectLED and I must honestly say, the image quality is absolutely excellent: great black, no problems with the illumination, a sharp image with natural colors (after ample testing the settings - even the setter as satellite receivers and Blu-ray player), no problems with fast camera guides (football Saturday and yesterday CL), fine with SD and DVD, ideal for HD, Bluray and even in 3D (here is perhaps a tiny bit more ghosting than my Panasonic plasma - but really hardly noticeable).
Today I have my Panasonic TX-P50UT30E placed right next to it and let it run on two parallel Avatar (see photos - unfortunately only 2 of 6 and dark here) - and even played around with the setting of LG to the picture really looks like on the Panasonic!
Hats off to this TV - I was set out to return to court - but since there after 9 days no thought to it.
A little negative we feel the position of the feet - there are a total of 119 cm between - which meant with us: so that we could rebuild it up at all.
However, because we value the pure image quality there is no question - he stays with us. As has been quite a lot done in recent years in the development of LCD-LED's (at least for Direct LED - others I can not really judge).
If even 2 - holds 3 years: then prima Job LG !!!
