Copying the data was easy to install without any problems. The computer was also faster than before. But a day later - where the computer was not even busy - I heard strange noises. The off-balance sheet, brakes and accelerates constantly two seconds later again. One hears such park the heads and then read again. And that in total banal things as a page view in the browser, where you wonder what really goes to the hard drive?
Total annoying !!!
At first I thought it was a failure, but a look at the web showed the problem very often. A contact with the WD technical support did not help. Instead I got a link in the forum where other fellow sufferers, the problem discussed - without a solution.
I am the board got rid of again. Now I use ne 750GB Seagate Momentus 5400.7. The running smoothly, quietly and remains cool and is faster than my old original HD from Apple - everything you would expect with a Mac.
Therefore, from me: Absolutely no purchase recommendation for WD for the MacBook Pro.
As the matter under Windows looks like? - No idea.
