Customer Review

Following the outstanding debut album "Forever so" that sparked with all its melancholy facets into one of the most outstanding and most beautiful albums of the past few years, bringing Australians from Husky finally the successor.

"Ruckers Hill" is still folk, still melancholy and bring lots of wonderful melodies alongside great instrumentations and the beautiful voice of the singer Husky Gawenda. The atmosphere is the successor but consistently cheerful, moody and not as consistently in the sad track, but there are also more rapid folk-rock songs that develop in the course of a song ("Ruckers Hill", "Saint Joan" or "I'm Not coming back "). These songs could also be designed for the radio and would as well fit in, whether I feel that as good or bad, I can at the moment after the first runs too early to say, but for the average radio listener these songs should be heard. Songs like "Ruckers Hill" or "Heartbeat" act at first sight, quite superficial, but act on time and memorize the strong choruses in the ear a. "Gold in her pocket" confident, however through his trumpet and use the joyous and special melody.

For me, the more melancholy songs remain the highlights: "Mirror", "Leaner Days" or "Deep Sea Diver" than three examples at the most beautiful to describe that here are the most outstanding hotels in the melody and also from the special arrangements for me. As memories of America, Simon and Garfunkel and other bands from the 70s and 80s come on. Wonderful!

Overall, this album is more folk than indie and more uptempo than Downtempo and will, even if I could be better liked the predecessor, must rank among the best albums of the year and. Precisely because of the voice of the lead singer and the melancholy in the songs 4.5 stars for a total, but rounded up! Spread the word!
