The only 26-year-old Sophie Hunger pulls a having kidnapped a on a journey full of emotions - melancholy, thoughtfulness, irony, excitement up to the feeling of a glorious majesty. She and her equally excellent aufspielenden musicians create a lately rarely heard dynamic that can be found on the same track of the quietest to the most furious tones (on tracks like about Drainpipes, Rise and Fall or Monday's Ghost). They somehow reminds me of Bjork, but without their strange sounds, at Jewel, without their silly lyrics and cheesy tunes, a bit of French chansons, even to the cited by herself Bob Dylan.
She and her band interweave Piano (E) guitars, trombone, percussion, isolated harmonica and glockenspiel with hunger's the same as a sanded sugary voice to a unique sound.
That's already world-class music. Very worth hearing are the way, already their first works "Sketches on Sea" and "Fisher" (then in another combination).
Thanks Sophie.
