I have six of those things in an old lamp built which was equipped with 20W halogen bulbs.
(Important: Also replace the transformer because a transformer 150W with 18W sure is below the minimum load.)
The light is warm, yellow and this really bright! Secht piece of it will be 18W and are about as bright as an energy-saving lamp of similar power.

I'm thrilled!
