Display:
Natural colors but very pale. The resolution is much too low. One dares not a Samsung Galaxy S2 or even to keep next to it. Sure, other display technology and so on. Since you can set 3 different brightness levels and I was busy to keep the device as long as possible in operation, I had often set only the middle stage. The third stage is annhembar but strong battery-heavy.
Software:
Again, I was specifically HTC Sense very appealing. By the time it was boring and just nothing special anymore. But this year (O2 branding) an update on HTC Sense 3.5, it evaluates my opinion the power back on something. Otherwise, I'm a fan of Android. Have a professional BlackBerry 9800 Torch and, well, is nice but the surface and the entire operating system does not suit me special, and it just is not so sophisticated and beautiful to look at. In addition, the apps look pretty modest as the "German Railways" app, no comparison with the design on an android or I-Phone.
Camera:
The pictures are good but far from great. I do not make a lot of pictures but if so, they should look for what;). HTC typically is there still room for improvement. The videos are not convincing. The HD quality you realize only conditionally.
Optics / haptics:
It is not only noble, it is also. The Uni-Body of metal enhances the entire device. At the expense of the total weight, which had at first not bother me, but with the time but a bit annoying. The size is perfectly fine 4.3 inches or 4.5 inches, say, is the limit I think. Too bad, the Samsung Galaxy Note that has become such a monster 5.3 inches.
Now, the main criticism of the battery:
Completely undersized! Just when you installed an S-LCD, and no power-saving AMOLED, but you have to spoil a strong battery. On this point, I did not understand HTC from the outset. I was hoping that other vendors develop stronger battery and bring to the market, but up to a 1600 mAh I had acquired for 10 Euro, on Ebay and was rather disappointed by the performance (you guessed it ...) seemed no direct battery improvements under the eyes. Too Bad.
Conclusion:
I know that it is nonsense to compare with other devices that are more current, a different display technology besitzten or have a battery boost. No one knew where the weaknesses of the device are, and these were also significantly. I am not dissatisfied with my HTC Desire HD but I am dauerthaft looking for a worthy successor. Currently I sympathize with the soon erscheinendenm (Expected in March 2012) Sony Xpiria S.
