At my newly bought Sony NEX-7 I like to use either of the following heavy lenses:
Minolta MD Macro 100mm F4 377g (with adapter 1: 1 total 571G)
Minolta MD 200mm f4 telephoto 520g
Minolta MD 135mm f2.8 telephoto 510g.

For this purpose each the weight comes on the adapter Novoflex NEX / MIN-MC-MD of 89g.

Thus the lens mount is not too much load and could cause damage, I have gained this tripod collar for the adapter.
This is very well made and leaves me with a trustworthy impression. The weight of NEX-7 and the respective lens of up to 1.2 kg then transmits this tripod socket. It looks very old fashioned, because the body of the camera is not exactly known size.

These old Minolta treasures I can "shoot" good pictures. Due to the manual focus is in my opinion the photographing is decelerated and I can enjoy it longer.

The tripod mount is not cheap, but reasonably priced in terms of material and careful processing.
In this respect, I can recommend buying without limitation.
