Well conceived, poorly made

There were some negative comments about this product, but also very good properties have been described. I bought this quick coupling unit, as Cullmann is a German company and I have a product "Made in Germany" hopes.
And again I fell for it: ". Engineered and designed in Germany Made in China" is very small on a sticker on the bottom.

The lever for attaching the removable disk has seen a small safety lever on the figure as a small nose that faces outwards. This safety lever must be pressed, the release lever to be operated. The safety lever is loaded by a compression spring, so that it always protrudes to the outside. The safety lever is screwed to the release lever and that's where the problem lies. It is certain that the system as purchased can never function permanently and safely. Except that I have received a part with unfavorable tolerance positions of the items.
The finish of the unit is bad. Wherever parts meet each other mechanically, it is already chipped. From the bottom of the painting seen in inaccessible places is not entirely opaque.

The rubber pad of removable disk is handy and should serve well, at least for my relatively light camera system.
