So here's a review, who deals with the technical and aesthetic qualities or weaknesses.
This test relates to the Dark Knight version with 67mm filter thread.
Haptics: The lens is mostly, maybe even worked entirely of metal. Everything makes a solid impression. Everything fits perfectly, none of the adjusting rings has game. All marks are milled and not just painted.
What is quite disturbing for micht, is the continuously rotating aperture ring without notches, which also has different distances between individual panels. So you never know so, with which one panel is working.
Optics: The lens is well centered, and recorded quite low. The scattered light sensitivity despite the large lenses OK, thanks to a fairly comprehensive hardening. But under strong light, there is ugly arcs, which have nothing to do with the compensation, but rather with the refractive properties of the types of glass used.
The lens vignetting at maximum aperture as expected quite strong, but CA is improving from Aperture 2.8.
The sharpness is very good at f 0.95 in the frame, but is very weak in the corners.
The same picture emerges in Aperture 1.4.
To improve this, from Gate 2, from aperture 4 the picture is outstanding, from aperture 8 uses diffraction.
The contrasting behavior is surprisingly good at open aperture and is excellent from Aperture 2.8.
Although no aspherical lenses are used, the lens has only a very small coma error, which has been eliminated from Aperture 2.8 at maximum aperture. This criterion was for me the way decisive for the purchase.
Concomitantly the Mitakon points of light forms with virtually no glare from already at full aperture.
Ca`s are generally well corrected and the lens has virtually no "purple fringing".
The Bokeh is probably also due to the non-aspheric design, very pleasant and makes it easy to blur foregrounds and backgrounds.
Compared to other special optics:
Noct Nikkor 1,2 / 58mm: The Noct is processed more expensive, solid and has a more consistent range of services, but is also just fainter. The Mitakon can not be used on SLR in return
NOCTILUX 1.0 / 50mm: The Noctilux is considerably more expensive, robust processes, but can not quite keep up with the total Mitakon visually. It has a pronounced coma vignetiert, stronger and has pronounced purple-glowing edges "purple fringing". The figure in the frame, however, is also very good.
It thus follows in the sum of the properties a strong buy recommendation for the Mitakon.
But potential buyers should be aware opt for the full aperture photography, because otherwise you're eg. with an adapted 6-lens 50mm Summicron-M much better off.
