Lily is 15 when she comes with her mother from England to Australia. Her mother moved because her new boyfriend Michael to Adelaide. Lily is at first angry and determined to go to her 18th birthday straight back to England. She is determined not to like everyone and everything - until she meets Ben. Ben work in a national park in Adelaide, where Michael works. As Lily has always loved animals, Michael takes her to work and she soon befriends using the 12 years her senior and Ben falls in love with him. But then she finds out that he is engaged and will soon go to London, where his girlfriend is waiting for him. Lily desperately remains ..
10 years later: Lily has remained in Australia and lives with her friend Richard in Sydney. At the wedding of her friends Lucy and Nathan he holds her hand. Lily, who has Ben never forget and never stopped loving him, hesitating with their response. Is Ben really lost forever? Can they build a life with Richard?
More I will not tell you the content, since it would give too much of the story. Just this: Those who have read "Lucy in the Sky" and was great (like me) who will be happy because there is a reunion with the characters from the book: Richard is the best friend of Nathan and Lucy! I also think it's sweet that appear in all Paige Toon books the characters of her other books again - even if they are somehow only briefly mentioned.
Here I have suffered with Lily and doubted, laughed and cried with - I was just in the middle of history. Lily, who loves twice and does not know who it should be for now.
I have read this book in one go and was sad when I had read it - because another book will probably be there earlier in the summer. Paige Toon has only published 4 books, but already it is one of my favorite authors and their books have special places in my shelf.
