Everything will start with Vargaï and Sohia lorsquils will discover a Dragonspawn so that they bring their students to the future Mageronce (school of Land). At the bottom of the cave where the animal is housed they will save a boy who appeared to be the future of the beast lunch. The child amnesiac will be appointed Jona and find his travel companions. Including Daelfine who helped save him, Gesse, the clown service, Vohn the big brute and his sidekick Berris and Nobiane, a girl a little reserved. They are all future apprentices Vargaï. But the dune presence quun Dragonspawn creature as dangerous in the world will worry teachers and their return to Mageronce will receive priority. The six children are the central protagonists of the story. Lalternance perspective among the young men allows all know almost equal share and enjoy them throughout the adventure. All holders of a heavy past that they try to hide it necessarily sattache to them as the story and we want to find out what have pushed them on the path of Land. It also follows, from time to time, the views of teachers who are all the more interesting that they can discover little by little the world Gonelore but also tense relations within the Brotherhood of Land and its leaders. In this slew of characters i had my preferences. Even though I loved them all for one reason or another, I have particularly enjoyed the passages from the perspective of John, trying to recover memories and know who he is. But also some time we follow Nobiane is a girl that i affectionately for his character First of slightly erased and gradually evolves throughout the novel. Jaime also many Vargaï, the veteran adventurer who tries to find out what exactly is happening in the world and stem the resurgence of chimeras.
The plot although basic for a novel that I would call dapprentissage and fantasy, turns out really well done and I have loved immersing myself in this world so mysterious. I liked the writing of the author and I havent stopped turning the pages to always learn more. I just noticed several repetitions of words that come much "the time dun (see more) heartbeats," "the / regrettably the (x)" or "gallop". This is not a big deal, but sometimes a difference of only a few pages that's a lot of unhappy people galloping after seeing some event which sest product of a time beating heart. That said it's still a very small complaint and décriture author of talent is undeniable.
Many questions remain unresolved and therefore i can not wait to read volume 2 which sappellera The Maguistren and should bring a lot of revelations after a first volume instead turned to introduction.
