Improvements: The display is larger and brighter, but this is only of interest if you want to watch movies. The feel is something more noble, more metal and glass on the fingers. The device is, after all, easily recognized as a data carrier.
The FM Radio is much better than its predecessor; though still would RDS here, I'd say at least managed a small step, SONY. But listening to the radio, I have not purchased the product.
And now come the drawbacks:
Navigation was good and is good. But: the previous model could serve the three central buttons blind, which is now only possible to grope and prolonged habituation. The volume-down buttons are unreasonably far apart. I wonder why you have verschlimmbessert mean? Because it's a tick looks better?
Any improvement in sound. If one switches on the whole sound-improving effects, playback begins slightly "pumping" to on. In addition, the unit is much quieter than its predecessor. I am anything but a "sound" -Hörer, but just listening to classical music is, there is quieter passages. (The best sound is still my ancient Sony Walkman, the 1 GB memory operates at a MiniDisc and by holding a round cell 40 hours.) Why can not continue as a quality standard?)
That the battery with the same "care" after the half playing time makes limp compared to the previous model, is an indictment of SONY. The 30-hour claim is just a joke and that gives massive points deduction. There is hardly a worse offense for a player. The part running half an hour, and already the first bar has disappeared in the charge indicator. When the predecessor lasted a few days. As described herein completely applicable in another review, one can start from about 10 hours duration under normal conditions. In addition, this player has the biggest problems to take the cover illustrations by the media player, which was never an act for the older model.
This was my fourth SONY player, but probably also - sorry, guys - the last. The first was the best, though lean memory, the second there were giant in trouble with the weak-minded, unstable software, and the narrow-battery, the third (described here as a predecessor) was up on the radio all around well.
