The speed increase has me so excited that I wanted to install it on my Asus Zenbook UX21, which runs on Windows 7. After all, knows the new Windows out of the house with SSD drives good deal as they are installed in the Zenbook. But then came the disappointment: the boot time on the Zenbook was not or barely noticeably faster. When the program starts, there was also no difference. And the built-in Asus Multi-gesture touch pad does not get along to make matters worse with W8:. Certain wiping movements, for example, if I wanted to put a highlighted word from the beginning of a line to the end, the Charms bar opened unsolicited right; other movements opened unintentionally and uncontrollably the W8 home screen and had to be weggeklickst cumbersome, so I longed soon after the regular user interface and functionality of Windows 7 again.
The duplication of programs and apps was totally confusing to me, for example, when Internet Explorer or Skydrive: when you open the program from the Start menu as an app, you have fewer options and a different view (without a menu bar), as if they are from desktop than conventional programs starts. - In the magazine c't early 2013 was to read, Microsoft put its users in Windows 8 in the middle of a construction site inside. That is absolutely right. And the new user interface in a hijacked a mirrored world of apps and programs, where you do not often know where you are and in which "Settings" for example you are just:. A user interface with a false bottom Total confusing and unnerving. I am then returned three days later with Windows 8 on my Zenbook ruefully to Windows 7. That went smoothly, thanks to Windows 7 backup. (Even so, the Windows 7 backup, can be found in W8 only if you google the term, as well valuable tool was hidden in the depths of the system.)
The daughter finds W8 incidentally also a bit strange. But at the Satellite there is at least the speed bonus. And not a multi-gesture touchpad that travels with W8 sled.

PS: If I should want some of Microsoft - in addition to the return to a less schizoid user interface - then it would be much needed editing the Windows Help. For years, she leaves a most totally down when you have a problem and some keyword searches. Always one must only googling in forums to reach solutions. So please, love Microsoft, makes at last, here are the Windows Help so intelligent that it really deserves its name! Because in the previous versions lets the computer user back rather helplessly. Since Windows 8 is no exception.
