Why still 95% with the 14-140mm? It's just extremely versatile with regard to the focal range and thus very comfortable (no idea what lens is packed, no lens change required, ...). Since I take the drawbacks in everyday life in the purchase or grab the other lenses only in special cases still.
Where there is light there also shadows:
- Light intensity could be higher. . The new LUMIX G Vario 14-140mm / F3.5-5.6 ASPH / OIS Power brings in this respect more minimal (starts at f 3.5 instead of 4 - likely in practice, however, be barely noticeable)
- Focal length starts only at 28mm. Since I am a big fan of small focal lengths would clearly prefer me 24mm and a lower max. Focal length would be bearable (image section can be processed via image processing - creating a smaller focal length with the associated greater angle of only consuming by shooting in Panorama Mode)
- The rubber ring for adjusting the zoom leiert quickly and the bonding to the lens dissolves, you have every now and then secure it with eg double sided tape again.
- At smaller M3 / 4 cameras like Panasonic's GF series the lens is too large (proportions not agree and the whole is quite front heavy emphasis on her)
Due to the previous year on the universality of the lens verschmerzbaren disadvantages still there 4 stars. 5 star would have a 24-100mm / 2.8 earned hopefully yet to come.
