I have had the Fuji X20 and the Olympus XZ-2 together with the Pentax MX-1 for a few days in use and have tried in detail the three. Between Fuji X20 and Pentax's was then close and I have finally decided on a gut level.
Reviews on dpreview.com & Co. I also read a lot and am on the Canon PowerShot S110 which pushed Sony RX100 and the Canon PowerShot G15. In the RX100 had bothered me that the lens falls extent the zoom range from the maximum aperture ago. I liked it so much in the three tested by me: The screen is all three at f / 1.8 - f / 2.5.
In the Fuji and Olympus in the operation over rings was highly praised at the lens in all reviews and I found this type of operation just annoying. This is of course a personal preference or indeed dislike.
In (Photo) everyday can me the Pentax MX-1 previously fully convincing: it is small and light enough (compared to a DSLR or mirrorless system camera), so I always take with. And the picture quality after just four weeks and about 900 photos I find also very well done.
I am so far very satisfied, and will update this review with further experience.
1st Supplement: Some sample images uploaded.
2. Supplement (10.09.2013): The camera shows the peculiarity of having a short "deadlock" after switching on and after saving of photos shows for about 1 second, none of the controls (zoom, menu keys, etc.) has an effect , This is evident not just u. U. because the display continues liquid displays the current camera image. Not too annoying in everyday photo, but clearly too erwähnendes negative feature. If you want to z. B. After switching on the camera directly to a motive "Ranzoomen", you have to wait for this break. Justifying for me, however, still does not provide full star deduction. I'd give 4.5 stars if it were.
3. Supplement (4/5/2014): I have found out what is going on with the "Deadlock" is all about. It is up to the use of an Eye-Fi wireless SD card. This is officially supported by the camera, though (or perhaps because of it), the use of such a card (at least my model) to the described behavior. After exchange of the Eye-Fi against a normal SD card the brief freezing no longer occurs. I was more important than the functions of Eye-Fi, and I have therefore changed back to a normal SD card.
