Original weighed with headband 105g. I won a bicycle inner tube piece on the headband, it reingesetzt there. and a Li-battery in it. now she weighs 89g. and wobbles considerably less, sits much closer to the end.
I was so impressed by the quality of light, as I have also still the same brought this lamp one size larger. then weighs on the headband 122g. and one just has 3 times as long as light.
Will probably now take both lamps time to Costa Rica and test there in the jungle. 96 grams of extra weight (only a headband). OK. think I can get over. (I wrote a book about hiking lightweight luggage. I'm not constantly on the go. Otherwise I would just take this Tiara A 1.
I will charge the lamp with a solar panel from SIStech (Switzerland). The LI-loader for 22 grams. and a Power Bank 63 grams. which I have along for Music etc.
The first time I now have in the jungle right light. in Myo was always a compromise that can not properly load, with three NiMH rechargeable batteries in series one.
Who need a headlamp with good lighting, awesome. But would not use NIMH batteries, but lithium-ion. The charger is lighter. 22 g. The batteries are lighter. because it takes rather 3 LI batteries. when large enough, perhaps even a Wizard?
So if you want something good buy, this is the place.
Now have the LI-battery tested (size AA). 19 grams instead of 26g. SIStech NiMH battery. And with the Power Bank, incredible how fast the battery is charged again. Since the lamp always burning. 5600 mA of power bank (118g) you have to get all there first. And one must not make the day the night. Walk around in the forest with 900 lumens. which is already abnormal. 85 lumens rich mostly loose. And 220 lumens can be there in LI battery change, and load immediately, already wear a few hours. The Armytek with 3400 LI-battery I have now tested. The bottom 3 of 6 levels range as easy to me. ie up to 200 lumens. More's mega light. The stop is 30 grams heavier. My Tiara A1 with changed headband 89 grams, the greater Wizard 122 grams. (48 grams Battery) for they lit longer.
Now times have easier battery (18650 - 4200 mA) reingemacht 32 g in the larger Armytek (Wizard).. I'm now at a weight in converted headband of 105 grams. So 1 gram lighter than the tiara A1 with NiMH battery in the original. for at 50 lumens 30 hours. will now test two months in Costa Rica, both lamps. Unbelievable that I'll be traveling with such a brilliant light quality. Bin until now really excited.
Let's see how long this 32g 18650 battery lasts in the Wizard. (Bailong). So 105 grams with battery and awesome headband, ie 14 grams heavier as my modified Tiara A1 for significantly longer light, also for cycling. I could imagine that I as umsteige on the Wizard. The 48 gram battery in the wizard would be my long term may be too heavy. 122 grams. Perhaps there is quality 18650 battery in 30 gram range.
If I change the long term on the Wizard, I will certainly take the Wizard Pro because I already miss the very dark stages now. but with lighter end cap. The Wizard has different lighting levels as the Tiara A1, also Wizard Pro, etc. I will now time to test, let's see what feels best for me in the long term. I even use something else like Armytek because the other manufacturers have to really reinvent.
Now had both lamps the first day in the jungle test. Yesterday night, so went in unfamiliar jungle, constructed hammock etc. (at night a lot of rain) Superior light. 200 Lumen I turn then on while running. So the Wizard is there for me now clearly forward. The lightweight battery 32g is apparently only playing.
Wizard is the best jungle lamp I've ever had, outstanding. absolutely outstanding.
Final conclusion:
Had now has 2 months Wisard and Tiara A1 in Costa Rica in continuous use.
Earlier I write yes 85 Lumens rich, or I then immediately umschwenkte to 200 lumens. In practice, I have but then in the jungle, learned to love 500 and 1000 lumens. It also reduces the risk very to contact a snake, just incredible 1100 lumens to see the jungle at night. (In the first month I saw 30 snakes. 70% poisonous snakes.)
So at the Tiara A 1 am thrilled ease. For night in the jungle to look for snakes but that is too little light output. because I like 500 or 1100 lumen and the poss othing long. With Li-ion rechargeable battery, the lamp goes without warning immediately. nor again. So you have to always plug in a spare battery and blind since found battery and the AC can. At night, get out of the hammock, go too far away to pee, there can be dangerous. Also cycling etc. Had since the end always such a bad feeling that they simply run out suddenly.
When Wisard I lack the low light level, because I'm going to buy soon the Wisard per. The Wisard's just 100% reliable, but slightly heavier. also is to make low when loads on solar, so a large battery fully. if one time does not have time to load, you know 100% light.
from time to time came on the trip, some people with the latest Petzl, Revolt, etc. Everyone has really need to admit is really no comparison. So a luxury light and with 10 year warranty, 10 meters height of 10 meters waterproof. What other headlamp can do that?
Since I can only say thank you hereby for all persons who have contributed to the development and manufacture of this lamp. It is allowed to use an honor your lamp.
