When reading many reviews on many wide-angle attachments and agreed tests, I noticed
- That it is easy to buy the wrong product: Blur / autofocus problems often starting zoom factor of 2 or 3; mechanical vignetting (see Wikipedia)
- That the original Panasonic accessories will partly heavily criticized in tests "vignetting on their own (ie Panasonic) equipment".
I was looking for a wide-angle ancillary where not from zoom factor of 2 or 3 of the autofocus failed (=> blurred image) and where you do not at least zoom factor 1, x must adjust to no (mechanical) vignetting so get black corners. It seemed hopeless to find something over the internet for my camcorder. Then I read the review of Felix Kautsky here, and get the suspicion that the negative reviews came mainly through combination with non-recommended Cameras or adapter rings materialize. He writes there that one but, for example on the Raynox website can be appropriately recommend to his camcorder / his digicam an intent to.
The Raynox recommendation for Panasonic SD909 (46mm thread, 35mm-420mm KB) was ...
... Which hardly offered in Germany Version HD 6600PRO-46 (ie equal to the matching 46mm connection thread). I then found her by a dealer (not Amazon) an offer with 72mm- (front) 58mm thread (rear), in which a super-thin 46-to-58mm adapter this was the same and ordered.
Result:
- Full-by zoomable and focuses on the autofocus is always sharp
- No mechanical vignetting (is optical me so far not noticed)
- Now, the SD909 is fortunately somewhat larger than the average of the current consumer camcorder, but a little bit of intent provides powerful and by the considerable weight up front is the Cam also slightly different in your hand - but the balance is still OK.
- I use the WW almost only in rooms especially for films of children and since then I have just the decisive bit more on the image - instead of 35mm WW issue up to 23mm (28mm would have been enough).
Combination with filter / aperture:
- So far I have a 72mm ultra-slim UV filter purchased. Ultra-slim, because further vorbauenede filter possibly at max. Seen as a wide-angle corners in the picture would scharz (mechanical vignetting).
- For WW intentions with 72mm front and backlight / scattered light covers are recommended. Since I have found that even for WW recommended aperture or 2-stage back-folding rubber diaphragms are sehehn at maximum WW in the image (23mm WW but is already a very big WW). I'm going to keep looking, but I think at the latest, when even the UV filter in combination we screwed that construction builds prior to the point where I have to zoom in a bit to have no scharz corners in the image. Plan B would be a 77mm-WW-panel and to get a narrow 77zu72mm adapter. Looks determined not particularly great, but if I find that I need a stop ...
