After removing the old cartridge from the printer the first step is the vinyl tape from the Pelikan cartridge to remove. Now, the new cartridge can be inserted. Will appear on the printer an error message, this can be circumvented by about 5 seconds the red button to "Cancel" suppressed. The error display disappears and now can be printed with the Pelikan cartridge. However, the printer will warn every now and then in front of an empty cartridge and the remaining level is not displayed. However, since it is not a necessary feature for me and I also know it from refillable cartridges so, there is no reason to deduct a point for the product for me. When the printer stops printing, I can already think that the cartridge must be replaced.
The color is not as intense and rich, especially when printing images, as you know it from the original cartridge. However, it is sufficient for my purposes, since I print a lot of letters with colored headers and since the difference is hardly noticeable. The ink does not smear and requires just as long to dry somewhat around.
The recycling idea of Herstllers I think just fine. The packaging was a stamped envelope made of plastic attached to the same for further processing to send the empty print heads back to the manufacturer.
Conclusion: This Pelikan printer cartridge is a good alternative to the original cartridge by Canon, which is cheaper almost twice.
