In order to make it short:
There are supplied on a mini CD Driver for Windows (including Windows 8) and Mac (including the latest version of OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion).
On a USB flash drive copied, I could install the drivers easily on my Mac Book Air late 2012, and already operates the Ethernet adapter.
The data throughput is faster than the original USB adapter from Apple. For a comparison to the Thunderbold adapter I could not perform - but I think that now is the limiting factor, the network and not the interface.
Conclusion: Completely satisfied!
