Tested devices: S5, S3 (both work, S4 then probably, but I have not tested) TV: recent LG LED TV - works flawlessly TV2: older Sony LCD - unsuitable because too much lag for HD video. DC: power to the MHL adapter (for charging mobile phones) via the USB port of the TV works fine. The S5 can even be operated without power supply on MHL adapter. Image and Video Quality: The picture quality (resolution) is very good, hd flat. The image is output on both the TV, as well as on mobile. Sound quality: Impeccable, via Settings / System / accessories can even surround sound (7.1, 5.1) are switched. App compatibility: I bought the MHL adapter 3 for my S5 to SkyGo look on a TV can. Thus I had not hoped to have always lugging my laptop. Unfortunately, the adapter when starting the Sky video streams is interpreted as Google Chromecast and the app turns off the picture. It is apparently part of the MHL / HDMI standards that Apps can decide whether the image is to be output over or not. The Hirnis Sky have decided against it. For the adapter itself can of course not, this affects not negative to this valuation. Whom it may concern: I have now installed SkyGo me on an old Acer Tablet with genuine HDMI (mini) output. Since works of the video stream.
Originally I wanted to assign only 2 stars for the adapter because I at HD videos on my main TV (older Sony LCD) always had an offset between sound and image. I then tested again at a later LG LED and since the offset was gone. That is my Sony has too much lag, the adapter or the S5 are not to blame.
About App (in) compatibilities to MHL I should have let me know beforehand. I have no choice, I have to give it 5 stars because the adapter itself is functioning properly.
