1. haptic operation
To my mind very well. The slightly higher weight and larger dimensions against other compacts I find positive because they improve my opinion handling. The G15 is about 1 cm slimmer than its predecessor, making it ideal for plugging into the back pocket of my jeans, which is quite handy. It can be manually adjusted without much to go into a submenu while the operation for Canon Lore is self-explanatory.
A notable example is the relocation of the exposure compensation dial on the top, next to the Belichtungsmoduswählrad. The Isoeinstellung were laid on the Daumenwählrad. Excellent! To adjust the exposure time in the exposure mode "M" gibt`s a wheel on the front. Also great!
2. Features
Each screen mode (incl. "M") of an SLR is to be found also the G15. The display can show a useful level. Important: The Auto ISO setting can be limiting to a maximum value. Histogram is displayed before recording - super
Smart Auto (recognition of Motivsence - Portrait, Landscape, Snow, Sunset) Full Auto is ideal for snapshots. For my taste, the control system controls but tend to fast in high isovalues. But is still very good and can easily be by using a scene mode (AV, TV, M, P) deal.
The optical viewfinder was a selling point for me. It can be in bright sunshine, when the display is sometimes not easily visible, use very good.
3. Lens / Aperture
1.8 at wide angle and 2.8 at the long end. Since a tripod in most situations is superfluous. Available Photography is possible. A motive indemnify is despite the high light intensity but because of the much smaller compared to the reflex sensor (1.7 ") still difficult. But as one would expect too much.
3. Image Quality
Up to 800 Iso top. Hardly noise to be seen. The images come rather soft from the camera and can be sharpened in most cases. That makes sense, because as the photographer takes control over the focus and not the camera's automatic. Automatic image sharpening is namely not be undone. Nevertheless, a hit the familiar settings of the Picture Styles from the SLR variable sharpness parameters would sometimes. If every time you shoot could each shot a RAW + JPEG, the JPEG to be a little more aggressive sharpened because you have the raw every freedom in the editing.

4. Software
The mitglieferte imaging software Canon DPP is absolutely useful. It enables but by far less "Raw" -Einstellungsmöglichkeiten as z. B. Adobe Photoshop ACR. My subjective "color fastness" of the images, however, I reach with Canon DPP in a fraction of the time as opposed to ACR. No wonder, yes, the software of the camera manufacturer ;-)
Conclusion:
Buy recommendation as a supplement to Spieglreflex. (Particularly useful in the backpack ;-)
To use this camera only in full automatic mode would be a waste. As a cheaper Tut`s also ;-)
