Despite partial criticism that the story too much remember the Hunger Games, was able to convince "the elite" most German readers by itself - as in my case. The story of Malenica and their friends who have to endure brutal tests for one of the extremely coveted places of the Commonwealth, I found from the start exciting and different. And Part 2 continues the story as exciting. Again, we are together with Cia on puzzles and doubts on whom you can actually trust; and because one should also still studying the way? ;-)
Here Cia could initially not be happier. She has been admitted to study at the University, together with the boy she loves and now hopes to be assigned to the technical department. But then Cia finds its own records which you reveal the bitter truth about the selection: Like many of their friends have died in brutal tests. How Will, she actually belongs to her friends, has been trying to kill her and Tomas. And as Tomas itself is seemingly become a murderer. Cia know that they must remain silent if they do not want to fly up. But they also know that they must do something if future children should not go through the same thing as they themselves ...
It was really interesting to see how Cia deal with this new situation, especially when she has to work during the rite of passage of her department precisely with those who have betrayed you ever in the readout. What I have fallen in part 1 and was again shown also very good, are the psychological aspects of the story. Cia is in constant uncertainty. Who do they trust? Who manipulated only? This we encounter here a girl who has become significantly more cautious, and rightly so. No matter what she does on campus, however they must be a case bear in mind how their actions could be perhaps interpreted by the auditors and the impact they could have on their future studies.
I initially feared a little that it would only be a rehash of the first part, because let's face it, even more tests? What can we expect new there already? And there's a part of the book, the very the predecessor similar operationally. Cia is confronted with tasks, she sinks into long internal reflections and considerations and copes with the tasks naturally through their acquired knowledge. On one hand, I found it again cool to be able to understand their thoughts and logical conclusions, on the other hand I was also glad that these tests do not take up the bulk of the book here, but we also learn more about the system itself and the world outside the university , In Part 1 it was already indicated sporadically, and here it is now obvious: not all people agree with the system of selection and planning a resistance.
You see, it's not so boring. It actually happens a lot and part 2 also ends with a nasty cliffhanger of the handle to the last part - actually makes indispensable - "Graduation Day". I am curious if it Cia because actually creates until their completion :-)
