Adept fantasy reading, I am greedy, always, to immerse myself in the world of swords and magic. Conditioned by these readings and some role playing, the orcs had a negative connotation for me (barbarians hordeux, aggressive, nag ...). It is with curiosity that I started this double trilogy ds. And I really liked bcp. Here humans are ugly, calculators, destructive and impose their laws and beliefs enslavement and brutality (where fiction meets reality, is not it?). Humans are in a race, and orcs, dwarves and elves, an older race. Characters can also be both touching and endearing, as sometimes brutal and detestable (which gives them a certain depth, because no one is completely good or bad). As any fantasy ds novel, there is a quest, a goal, and a multitude of obstacles. This is a novel that reads quickly through his fluid style and its plot. It is therefore a 4/5 I give here, for the originality of the characters and their diversity (orcs, but also nymphs, centaurs, gremlins etc.), as well as the plot.
