But perhaps it may be because that technically perfect playing the piano as Chihiro technically handles. So nice and clear and sober - would almost say "feng shui" and like, so grand as the pianist takes up and develops I'm missing the little bit of feeling that "genius" of the artistic interpretation that moves the threads.
Yamanaka plays excellent, but probably perfect for jazz. if I compare it for instance with the album "Old Friends" of A.Previn, then there is a dialogue between the instrumentalists and instrument that is missing on at Chihiro Yamanaka for me - although there is accurate timing and perfection, but side by side, no together.
As nice as the album (which is a must for any halfway jazzy interested), I lack a little more soul, a little more heart.
