I wonder if it is so small and compact, and the lens is small makes it super sharp pictures right into the corners.
I use it instead of the 50mm 1.4 at f2.8 lenses are both in practice very sharp and have a very nice bokeh.
Only at very low light is the 50 mm 1.4 in clear advantage and the USM focus is worlds better
which I am what I do not like at the sweet little 40 mm 2.8 in the single point.
The AF is unfortunately very slow when USM lenses are used to.
Since the AF is very accurate but I give 5 stars -
Conclusion - There is good value for technically no better Canon lens and it's actually a must for any
