Only the foam in wooden box müffelt and is just cheap foam because the box but with frequent use anyway the wrong storage location where VG-10 really should not rust therefore provides residual moisture probably less of a problem. But better still the same on a knife block or even think of a magnetic knife block (Since the damascus envy come Opitsch full effect). The knife drawer is certainly off limits hurts only the blade and the wood. Oh and dishwasher is also taboo. Only wash after use with water and wipe the same finish. I occasionally oils times but only because of love.
After 1 month, I again sharpened the first knife with a Jap Water grindstone. Fast back as sharp as when buying ("Tomato Test" passed!) And still worlds sharper than any "cheap" 10-knife so that I have at home otherwise. But what more of my incipient experience is ascribed with Japanese grinding technology. An experienced knife grinder will surely bring back out the initial focus or even a bit more.
So best equal knife knife block + + grindstones schedule. Then you hold it long very sharp and has a lot of fun with them.
