However, progress is not always better! On the following two negative points I would like to focus:
1) The brightness of the LED candles from KRINNER are rudimentary with a light bulb comparable. In dimly lit rooms, the light can be seen clearly, but it's a typical LED, punctual light and not a classical radiation of a light bulb. Is brightened by the LEDs neither the tree, let alone the room. During the day the light is hardly recognizable.
2) The definition of warm light is rather subjective. I do not feel the light as warm. It is determined as the yellow of a cheap LED flashlight, but is warm otherwise. Nevertheless for me (just) acceptable.
Now the positive properties:
- The candles make a solid impression. The terminal is processed properly and by a hinge, the candles are well positioned.
- The design is ok, but also to assess subjective. For my taste, the candles would calm some festive look to (have the basic package in ivory).
- Remote control works well, even from a distance. Also the expansion pack can be switched without any problems with a remote control.
- The greatest benefit is probably the wireless tree placement. No tangles, freely determinable position candles, lit in minutes the tree that stands already. As a side effect, limits the voltage to a 1.5V AAA battery, which is quite a safety aspect.
Tip:
- For my tree (2.5 m height), I have used 20 candles. This is likely to be the lower limit, 25 or even 30 candles were certainly not exaggerated.
- At the time of my purchase was the expansion pack with 5 candles disproportionately expensive as standard with 10 candles (extension 42, Basic Package 50 - December 2012). So I bought two basic packages (20 candles). Conclusion: money saved, all the candles can still switch with a remote control and a more remote I have to replace.
Conclusion:
Not as nice as the old fairy lights, but quite practical and safe. A decent alternative, although not without compromise.
