Short info about me: I am a professional photographer and exclusively in the field of portrait photography working. My reviews are not mathematically calculated based on any test magazines, but are based solely on my experience with the particular item. My job is to make ordinary photos, love my customers and precisely from this perspective, I would like to evaluate Yongnuo 565 EX for Nikon. My valuation basis are my photos. No more, no less.
To get straight to the point: This flash is worth the money! But is it a tremendous value to spend money for it?
But let's start with the bad news:
1. do not speak for all the English or Chinese language first begins the search for a German operating instructions on the Internet. In contrast to the English manual of Yongnuo YN 622N iTTL trigger (to which I have written a review) one has given more trouble apparently at the instructions on this flash. It is understandable. Mind you in English. However, this circumstance does not flow into the evaluation.
2. For those who prefer to turn in a flash on wheels, to shortcuts and abbreviations may not notice this flash is not really suitable. Den you do have some observations to make on the settings you would expect.
And zuguter last who can expect a well-read in every position / direction display, will be very disappointed by these flashes. The display is lit while, but "rotten" from reading. That's no fun. Suffering Glich front panel view you can read everything.
Yes, can "the thing" because anything good? Yep, that it can, and indeed do neat light. Thus we arrive at the positive sides of the Yongnuo 565 EX. If all parameters are set, rattles the thing like a 1. I've seen two of these flashes and yet not once a faulty lightning, experienced a failure or drop in performance.
In manual mode, it has never let me down and functioning properly. The flash can be triggered by certain Funkauslöser or in slave mode and supports Nikon CLS. Again, I have experienced no difficulties or misfires in a flash exposure compensation of the camera menu.
I must confess that in iTTL mode over- or under-exposure can take place, but 99% is because you
1. the wrong exposure has ceased in his camera
or
2. the exposure lock his camera has not been activated ... jaa, I admit it, I had it!
The service is initially used to, but one uses the flash often, the operation is easier and makes no great demands.
I take this lightning arrange outdoor shootings as a slave. It is good that the flash readiness is signaled by a loud beeping for outdoor use, which can be silenced.
When enabled, "Quick Mode" flash in 2 seconds is ready for use. For the operation I use Eneloop 1900mAh batteries and come in 200 trips in LV 1/2 - 1/32.
If you want to connect an external power pack to make the flash fire beneath their buttocks, Canon needs to buy cable, because the external power connector is compatible Canon (s. My review for Walimex Powerpack).
Delivered the Blitz incl. A stand in a well-padded bag. Since many manufacturers can learn a lot of times.
The conclusion is: The YN 565 EX is a powerful flash that can be fun. However, due to the weaknesses of the display and the instant replay button I forgive 3.5 star and yet speak of a buy recommendation. For the price you get the power anywhere.
I hope you could help my review to make your decision for or against the Yongnuo 565 EX.
In this sense I wish always good light.
