The first impression was very good. That thing looks nice and works especially very robust. The housing made of metal and rubber gives the impression as though it fall off sometimes go without directly broken. Processing impression is excellent, nothing rattles or wobbles.
Power off and stick with MP3s turn plugged.
The sound is very good for the device size, the (here sometimes criticized) maximum volume is absolutely fine with me. Of course, a device of this size is not suitable for the operation of a disco, but enough to annoy us in the living room when the girl turns up loud in the nursery. :)
For comparison, here we have a Loewe Speaker2go and a Bose SoundLink (not mini). Both are slightly smaller than the Pioneer unit, the maximum volume is comparable to the sound of both (especially the Loewe) are a good deal better than the Pioneer, but also cost a corner more, even by the EIA of Pioneer starting. Loewe sound clear / brilliant, Bose offers more bass.
That was it but also ... from now it gets more negative.
-the operation can be described as a total disaster.
Most functions can be called up not only with the very small remote control, including the so unimportant menu. It's probably only a matter of time before that comes somewhere lost, then you can use the device is severely crippled.
Except for pause / play and skip to the latched iPod lets (Nano Generation 5) neither the device nor operate with the remote control. This is especially annoying because the iPod disappears behind a locked door and can thus serve not even directly without difficulty. The compartment for the iPod can be rotated and to make matters worse, the damper can be opened only in the high-twist position ... to me is completely incomprehensible whoever invents something.
Selecting titles from the stick is also very ... particular. I have to stop playing to see a list of tracks, navigate during playback is not possible therefore.
For some reason some of my MP3, with whom I otherwise on any device had problems could not be reproduced. Playback will stop and then I see the tracklist in the front of each title is a symbol error, regardless of whether they can be played or not ...
However, the playback function is otherwise fine. Above all, that music is played without interruption, is therefore automatically crossfade from one to the next track is very nice.
The biggest annoyance for me is ridiculous MIXTRAX software, which is mandatory to copy music to the internal memory of Pioneer.
Wants to create for someone who mixes that might be nice to just get music on the device it is simply overloaded completely.
Either way, I'm not at all come this far. On the MIXTRAX page I was first pleased to find a Mac version, there was in the BDAs and product anywhere only by PC software mentioned.
The disillusionment came but then when I tried to copy music. The unit responsible loud online manual button missing here easily. I now participating Just looking at that, it depends on the Mac version, otherwise no one what wrote it. Anyway, I've found no way to copy music `s device.
Conclusion: I would like to write much more positive about the device, as the concept, the idea itself is excellent, but unfortunately the implementation is so terribly gone wrong that I actually can not in good conscience recommend it.
As a speaker, the thing is very good, especially for the 40, - that I've paid for it here there are probably nothing because even remotely rankommt. So I'll keep it and when I examples him at the end only by jack from the outside.
MP3 player and iPod dock / speaker, it is mediocre at best.
For the currently most wanted 130, - the Pioneer's probably just fine, although I would not buy it for the price.
