- Design and aesthetics.
Sony has made the effort to have an original design. This smartphone is unlike the competitors, I really appreciate the translucent backlit LED strip at the bottom of the smartphone. Tastes and colors (blah) but personally I find it very beautiful. Pretty light too, it's nice. Good grip.
Monitors at the top, nothing more to say on it.
The animated wallpaper developed by Sony is very elegant.
- Features with the computer.
What joy to be able to find the simplicity of copy / paste without having to go through a censor software. While iTunes is quality software, censorship by Apple, I can not anymore. Apple format for it, Apple format for that, not the file it, not the file there: bye bye!
The Sony PC Companion wizard is easy to use. The backup utility: very good idea.
- Features of the phone.
A little disappointed to be Android 2.3 Android 4.0 but that's the end of the following month Sony. I trust.
But just under 2.3, the Xperia S is responsive. I have not seen any significant slowdown. The dual-core processor does its job well.
The pinch that finds all widgets a glance (eg Time, TimeScape, Google search, MétéoFrance, Evernote, Wunderlist, Calendar, all of a sudden and without row) is a good idea.
A tap on the main clock and hop, we open the clock / alarm / timer. Handy for the alarm clock or the clock sport.
Quality camera. As with all smartphones, photos in dim light are of questionable quality: The flash compensates well.
The Photo button on the wafer can launch the camera even if the screen is locked, quickly: it's great.
The widget control of 3G, WiFi etc: the best friend of your battery.
- Audio.
Very good. Music level, against ever reach by an iPhone / iPod, but it is still very very good for the Xperia S.
Initially put off by the concept of in-ear, I could now do without. The sound is deep, no need to climb the high volume because it is well insulated. By cons, more than 400 smartphone, the little tongue-in-that-makes-good service could have been provided! Although in normal use headphones do not move during sports, it's not top. But that is valid for all ITE.
- Telephony.
The Notification LED, I love.
Very good call quality, whether for the microphone or audio.
The original keyboard allows conventional input or "SWYPE" nickel. Keyboard aesthetic elsewhere.
- Memory and autonomy.
No stretch, I'm very disappointed that Sony succumbed there. At the same time, with 32GB, there is margin. Between my photos, some videos with an entire movie, my music, apps, it remains almost 6/7 GB me ...
Let us come to autonomy. For all current smartphone, we must rely on almost daily load. Whether iPhone 4 (not talking about the 4S it's pathetic), the new HTC, Galaxy S2, so it's more or less the same. The Xperia S is no exception to the rule.
Limited to average usage (few calls, a bit of Facebook, emails consultation, accounts, some SMS) I would say 36 to 48 hours. (Battery Utility android with his autonomy curve, not bad about it).
Intensive use: games, some video, some YouTube, emails, Facebook and repeatedly calls, internet access, ... we take the day without fear.
So honorable performance but not exceptional.
But, dear builders, at that price put better batteries!
To conclude: mixed at the beginning (related to the interface change?) But ultimately a great choice! I do not regret.

Updated to 22 July 2012: the wait was long but the update to Android 4.0 has finally arrived. The phone seems generally more responsive. Autonomy I would describe similar. One day, intensive, 48 hours in typical use / light (some email, some sms, some play, some Facebook).
My conclusion is the same very good smartphone.
Negatives: not expandable memory (with 32GB and again was the margin), non-removable battery, perfectible autonomy.
Pros: the price / quality ratio, the speed of the phone, the beauty of the screen, the unusual design, diode, Android 4.0, audio quality, the photo quality.

22 May 2013:
traveling a day round trip to Paris, the phone took a sacred slap in terms of autonomy in the TGV (frequent change of antennas). I had to limit my use to take the day. Disappointed on this point.
Otherwise overall, in normal use, I hold a day and 36 hours.
