The Canon D30 is a decent device. I'm serious because I have an Olympus TG810 for 3 years I am very satisfied. I thought I had a quality improvement dimage with the D30, but to my surprise, this is worse. Used two weeks. The development and the exhibition are good but the sharpness is well below the TG810 what my "angry". In full screen (24 inches) of D30 images lack resolution and it seems that its objective is really very average (for the price). With respect for leaks, I have not had the opportunity to test "the hard way" but the fragile mountain air traps. Moreover, they are not easy to open and when they are closed, there is always some doubt if it was well sealed them because there isnt Click to farm. I do not think he will resist all that my children have done to the TG810. In addition, for me this is a device that I can freely confide my children to the beach or elsewhere (solid, reasonable picture quality and not too expensive) but my daughter did not like at all. This is a subjective criterion, but this is like real life!
Pictured diving, I found more difficult to succeed with the TG810 photos.
Another point, I'm Canon DSLR user and thought that it would be recognized by Canon ZoomBrowser EX or other software that maurai life easier but no, it is unknown to the battalion which oblige to install other software. Not as terrible ergonomics and "family spirit" from Canon. So I think this is the correct device for a first purchase but disappointing for a user other devices of this type (high end "fighter").
