I honestly wonder where the 5 star rating for the pressure cooker NutriCook come. I tried it today and am simply shocked!
I prepared the pot, as described in the instructions for use, the first use before and led by the first empty cooking process. One should fill the pan 3/4 with water and cook on program level 4, the timer while on 20 minutes. Set. I did as instructed and waited anxiously as the middle turned out in the cooking process the timer. Battery empty! Well, who knows how long it stood this pot already in the camp. Since a battery can sometimes lose capacity. But completely empty? Above all, the pot was no longer capable of cooking. Without timer all the way and the subsequent cooking in Program mode no longer works. The timer has no battery level indicator. You should replace the batteries when the display dims, or fails completely, is in the instructions. That's a joke! If the display fails, the pot is naturally right in use, so is located in the cooking process. How may occur insert which has no battery level indicator at the MSRP price of 300 EUR, the pressure cooker from Tefal, so a cheap timer ?! Especially when the timer is so important that the pot without him is useless. Since it would advance a symbol in the display will flash, so you can change the batteries at an early stage instead of standing in the middle of cooking without pressure cooker since.
In many reviews I've read that the pot was complaining because the timer. One reviewer wrote that the timer intermittent at her, step by 3 times use and need new batteries. I was held for an exaggerated statement, but was taught in practice test better. The timer is not at all and appears to be a cheap China products. Unfortunately, the whole pot of this cheap product is dependent and is unusable without a timer. This therefore represents a total loss.
But it gets even better! So I put the heat out, let the pressure and opened the pot. It expected me strange rust stains in steam service, who had not been there before. The pot inside and the steam application had also get calcium stains. Cooking just half times! Well, the steam use is not made of stainless steel, but so far with no cookware such cheap material I do not yet come under, which already gets discolored during the first boiling of water.
And here's the kicker! I was not the pot in the dishwasher, but washed by hand with clear water and dry it with a dish towel. Astonished, I found that blue-green spots on dishtowel stayed behind and saw that it came from the rubber grip of the steam insert. I was wondering why a rubber insert has been installed for use in the interior of the pot, but thought that this surely must be heat-resistant. Forget it! He colored light touch with my dishtowel sharply. As if one would wipe a felt-tip pen.
Now this was the first use. Probably the staining leaves the course after several uses and rinsing, but this is still not living-safe. If he leaves strong spots in the first use in tea towel, is not ruled out that it emits permanently small amounts color / plastic. And the land then in Essen. Well bekomms!
What to look for a plastic handle inside a pressure pot? I cook with pressure pots for 20 years. WMF to cheap brands I had more. But I have never seen a steaming basket with ingredients of rubber. In pressure cooker inside all should consist of food-grade stainless steel.
Conclusion:
This pressure cooker from Tefal is the biggest meltdown I've seen. Cheap material that limescale already gets on first use, brown (rust?) Attaches discoloration. A non food grade, green rubber grip near the steaming basket, inside the pressure pot, the rubs. A cheap-timer, the middle of the cooking process, due to lack of battery level indicator, and turns the temporary total loss of the pot is because you can no longer cook with programs without a timer.
This pressure cooker is not worth the money, only so exuberates of cheap materials and not doing what it should: Cooking.
He goes back directly. Furthermore, I have made all of discoloration photos and will cause them to consumer protection further. For rubber, or color in the food can not be!
