Conclusion after 7 days?

First the positive aspects, in my view:

- Graphics
I admit that it could have been even better, but on the whole, I like it. There are beautiful effects, no stuttering due to lack of system performance even with an older graphics card (GTX260) on the secondary computer.
Otherwise, the graph can be seen as a matter of taste. I myself would have been delighted if you would have been a little more similar to Diablo 2, a bit darker, but it would in any case can be much worse.

- Skill System
Diablo 2 I liked about skill options and I would have gladly taken a system of this kind again, but that's why I rate the new not as bad, it's just different.
For experimenting with limited time, the new system is a real plus point. One character per class in order to try out at the final stage all possible combinations and to find the right for themselves sufficient. With my previously 40 levels of the main character I have in the meantime also frequently adapted the skills, not only if something new has been unlocked. In my view there is (sometimes in detail only on the Demon Hunter, tested more not greater) number of possible combinations which can also be used permanently. Whether the remains in difficulty modes Hell and Inferno, we show up.

- Sound
The music is polyphonic, the sound effects are not overdone and the voice acting is also managed. In many places, I had to smile or laugh, as not only the voices, and the tone of fun, but the statements themselves are also very funny.

- Items and crafts
As expected and hoped for, there are again loads of objects and attribute combinations, collect the fun again and so it should be.
The craft, however, is such a thing. On the one hand it is nice to be able to produce objects themselves, but it does not seem quite ready for me. You can compare it with the gambling at Diablo 2 per se, just that you can basically build its available recipes and the properties are then randomly generated (depending on the rarity). Wormwood tropics here, however, that the production due to the Droppraten at the beginning hardly worthwhile. Magic items with 2 properties you will find a dime more, why it 4-8 disassemble or objects to be able to produce a new and pay additionally for gold?
The jeweler makes it worse. Could one earlier with the Horadric dice three gems of a variety simply combine craft pages are now above a certain level still needed. So that I could still be alive, but you also have to pay a not small amount of gold for each conversion, support prices at the auction house but which in any way and the Droppraten of example perfect stones (nightmare) are quite high, is also the upgrading of the jeweler not particularly lucrative. The announced and weggefallene third craftsman is as bad as the fact that the jeweler but can now add any base at objects. Reduces the possibilities of individual gameplay.

- Auction house
Well ... real money auctions are still not accepted, so far only the trade in gold. The structure is similar to the auction houses that we know from example Wow or SWTOR, but I still have a feeling that's not as intuitive operation, because I get along worse with the Diablo-AH as the other mentioned. Needless exercise. Positive here is that you pay nothing for listing an item. Here I had my concerns, especially in the real money auctions, and so would have been a devastating point the system to boycott. Currently it can use who wants who does not want can also selbstgefundenem action, or directly with friends or through forums, etc. plenty of options, was the case in Diablo 2.

Negatives:

- Technology, server, Battle-Net
There, unfortunately, many negative points. The servers run so far not still around. There are still Disconnects with a losing game progress and missing objects, as delays in the game and sometimes the commands are not executed. Whether the mouse or keyboard, and unfortunately only in Diablo 3 and any of my other games. Defective hardware with me is excluded.
The biggest shortcoming of the Battle-net was and is for me the change from individual user to e-mail address. This is clearly a greater security risk, since the e-mail address can be frequently associated with a user, as a pseudo. Who was of course used the same name for forums also to blame.

- Online compulsory
Although there is a large scale at the present time and DSL flat rates, as before, not all areas opened up. Friends of mine who live in quieter areas have, in some cases only analog / ISDN to access the Internet, which is slow and expensive and totally unsuited for such games. For an MMO online compulsion is fine, but it was developed. A game that can be played alone (regardless of whether the option for multiplayer as is), should also be a possibility this. Always and everywhere play alone if you feel like it. In rural areas, which is playing Diablo 3 thus partially not possible, which I personally (when I think about longer holidays) find very unfortunate and therefore also influenced my vote negatively. Another fee-based mobile-Flat for my laptop just for Diablo is a cost of a single-player mode (for a single-player game) could have been avoided.

The Online compulsory costs Diablo so from my point of view 1.5 star, a half star again for the (hopefully only currently, but experience has shown that in the future again and again) lack of technical implementation and its impact on the playability.
