I quite agree with the comments above mine. The Stabat Mater, which was very well received in its time, is very modern (the sacred), which only confirms the genius of Rossini. Much has been said there has like an opera, bel canto, etc. These absurdities have little interest, the Master brand here one more page in the history of the Stabat Mater, which was founded in the thirteenth century. And what page! God it's beautiful, addictive, full of that unique depth Gioacchino (which still wavers between drama and frivolity, always a thread of one or the other). I never tire of discovering this author, who definitely looks like nobody else. Only negative Raimondi denotes somewhat in this superb quartet with a style martial tad; a lack of fluidity from her for my taste. Without gravity to release this highly recommendable, just a little damage, and four and a half stars.
