I thought I can find no more shoe. Was hundreds of kilometers driven by car to find / search in Haustein (largest shoe village in the world) a shoe. But unfortunately had neither there nor anywhere else no hiking boots that fit me.
Had I bought 4 years in Decathlon which, with Vibram sole and membranes, these were very good. Have been through a lot just now the sole was worn and Waterproof they were, unfortunately, no longer.
Processing / Fit:
I've been looking for about 3 weeks for shoes and really left me a lot of time. Then I discovered the very attractive Grisport shoes and I ordered first the Avenger. They have compared to this here a Sympatex membrane and a Vibram sole (one of the best in the Vibram line the way, same as the Decathlon shoes!)
These were very comfortable, but unfortunately slide the left shoe's tongue and an eye was touched.
So Amazon called and promptly get ne replacement order. However, this hurt the toe, because the loop presses the leather down. (Has anyone here been addressed)
For safety, I still ordered 2 pairs of Everest and Crusader. All uncomfortable and the workmanship was very poor. Had actually already tired of Grisport. If new shoes at the bottom begins to move away and the adhesive does not consider properly or the leather is cut, it does not make fun.
Fit:
Then the peaklander in 43. Attracted, felt, processing came significantly better.
Then initially thought they are a bit too small because my left foot is slightly larger than the right. 44 would have been probably again to large. For people with wide feet, these shoes are fit, since I myself have slightly wider feet. However, 43 in the UK and not actually 8.5 9 (that would be US). But well, that probably makes each manufacturer.
So went out for a walk in the Wingert, run with downhill and behold, nothing comes to the front.
However, the correct lace is essential. Because the foot is prevented from sliding forward, and the tongue is fixed.
Here's a video about this:

Sole:
At first I thought the missing Vibram sole one would notice, but that is definitely not the case. The shoes roll well and give very good lateral support. The sole is strongly profiled (ca 7-8mm) than the Vibram sole (4 mm), but is a little softer. So could also hold more than 4 years. Grip it is definitely that but will next week in the Black Forest (1400m) tested intensively. The damping is good and can be improved with insoles of course. I need not currently first, since it might be a bit tight. Currently I have a good centimeter square forward (with trekking socks), as it should be.
Membrane:
At the diaphragm, I can not say much. The Note Waterproof indicates water resistance, which probably (according to an attached list) is achieved with the house's own Spo-Tex membrane. This is according Grisport, Breathable, waterproof and windproof probably.
The test in the shower with running water and the rain outside while walking in Wingert have mastered the shoes without complaint and stayed dry. How will looks at continuous load, I think still show.
For breathability of course I can not say anything, the shoes I've recently had. Sweaty feet, I have not yet received.
A note concerning the care of shoes with membranes:
To ensure breathability, the shoes should only be maintained with 100% wax. This should be thinly applied with a sponge, not the seams and cranny forget them collected and then brush with a shoe brush. Remove coarse dirt before of course with water and a sponge / or brush.
Shoe fat would make the fine pores of the leather "tight", why then can escape and no water vapor from the inside out.
This review was created shortly after the break-in period. Should degrade somewhat dramatically in the coming months or go already broken, I will add this.
For the price recommended!
