Buy recommendation, with little quirks

ASUS Viviobook S400CA Review
It must be said that the S400CA (I have the i7 version) from the price / performance ratio is unbeatable in front. However, there are still a few shortcomings which need to be mentioned.

DISPLAY:
At the top is the display, which is perfectly ok from the brightness though. However, from the viewpoint of absolute crap. The horizontal viewing angle is actually ok. (I'm not sure how to express this, but I mean, if one looks from the side. However, the vertical is very, so really very bad. We must at every small seating position changes the screen and adjust. Not more annoying, but does nevertheless noticeable. The display is glossy (not to be expected at this price), but leaves fingerprints very stand out. (There is a wipe supplied).
The touch screen works very well with no objections.

PROCESSING:
The processing is very noble in aluminum look. Special attention to appearance. If you knock on the aluminum, you realize that it is only an alloy (?) Is. But falls on not otherwise interfere and hopefully not. The rear panel of the display is made of black brushed aluminum. Here the Fingertapsen are even more to see than on the touch screen. The problem: They can be removed not so easy with the supplied cloth. However, what good contrast helps: you simply rub in with your fingers. : D

TRACKPAD:
The trackpad works really well. The clicking sound can be a bit noisy, but acceptable. A major problem, which is sometimes occurs that the ASUS Smart Gesture drivers sometimes crashes and I have not found a solution for manual restart. Only a reboot helps here. Smart Gesture is needed to exploit some Windows 8 features and also simple to scroll (drag with 2 fingers) to realize. He usually crashes when one puts the PC into sleep mode, but not always. I have not yet found a rule when it happens.

The rest of Ultrabooks is no further mention since there is nothing to complain about, or is software for technical reasons. The battery lasts a relatively long time. The keyboard is not backlit. The fan blows sometimes quite a lot, but not annoying. For 24 you can very loosely insert another 4GB RAM transom, and the bottleneck 5200rpm hard drive can be replaced once you've saved a little by a SSD. In coarse and whole a buy recommendation.
