The Ersteinruck is certainly good. This is a decent standard processed Gamermaus who has to make do with little buttons. Side keys do not exist, however, the known three standard buttons are freely programmable. Joining them will be a button with which the scanning speed can be switched between two modes. Here are 400 CPI, CPI 800, 1600 or 3200 CPI CPI a possible setting. Status LEDs do not exist.
I've tested the mouse in change in Windows XP and Windows 7. In both the mouse was immediately recognized and the driver is installed automatically. The mouse worked already properly, including the Switchens the sampling switch. So you also can adjust everything as you want it, makes SteelSeries software suite available, which you can download on the manufacturer's website (SteelSeries Engine). Here you can - as already mentioned - to set the key assignment or create profiles or create macros. Disadvantage of the engine: the standard version is English. No change in German possible.
The mouse itself is designed pretty slim and light (77 grams). Unlike my previous gaming mouse, the Microsoft SideWinder Mouse, which was still fitted with additional weights, because for years I used heavier because battery-operated mice. That should definitely benefit smaller hands. Since the mouse is symmetrically shaped, it is suitable for both left- and right-handed.
The surface looks classy (in black piano lacquer finish), but these can provide a smooth surface with sweaty hands in advance for one or the other slipping. The sides are equipped with a rougher plastic. The approximately two meter cable is provided with a double braided nylon sheath which is according to the manufacturer prevent knotting and prolong service life. If a substance is, however, always to be feared that he will wear at specific locations. One should therefore perhaps make sure that the cable is not laid on sharp edges along.
The feet (mouse gliders) are made of a material UPE and interchangeable. Note the latter is found only on the home page. A set of replacement glider there SteelSeries for 3.99 euros (as of July 2012). The movement on my GamersWear Stainless Mouse Pad I feel anyway pleasant. Outs or jumps I never had. Thus, the sensor seems to do a good job.
The key commands come at any time on well. The scroll wheel also been done good service. So also here nothing to complain about.
Thus remains as a conclusion a buy recommendation speak. The price is ok (30-35 euros). From a bargain but also out of the question may be, and the competition is in this price range also not small considering the somewhat meager equipment. So it's worth as so often compare. A glance is the mouse but definitely worth it.
