Since mid-May now I own a Nokia Lumia 630. At first I was frankly skeptical that my Lumia will be a worthy replacement for my previous iPhone. Well, now I have to say, with the time you get older and also has less and less time. I attach no importance now, carry any brand new gaming smartphone app.
Back to Lumia. Just in time for the weekend came the Nokia with me. Of course I tried it immediately. I have to say, even if not every day changes the SIM card. Inserting the SIM card slot is much faster than the iPhone.
Let's talk about service. The Lumia has on the right side next to the on / off switch two more heads, on the volume of the ringtone, alarm clock, music through headphones or even the music can be controlled via Bluetooth.
The first time you boot you will be guided through a good clear and easy to use setup menu. After a few minutes the smartphone is then already ready to use.
The operation is straightforward, easy to understand and well thought out. For people with a long experience of life the font size can be increased and the contrast shall be strengthened.
Great features like the power-saving mode and save battery power so I can make it without Bluetooth on words three days of operation. With Bluetooth enabled for my car radio there are 1-2 days, depending on usage.
Well, what I like most on Lumia and the Windows Phone 8.1:
++ Lock screen can be set individually. On my lock screen next to the time I have always the next calendar entries visible. Small Icons indicate to me how many messages I have in various apps (WhatsApp, Facebook, email ect.)
++ Also great on lock screen: You can use as wallpaper for example, the images of the Bing search or the current weather the weather app. I opted for the Bing search. To change the background every day and I always something new on the screen.
++ The tiles / Tiles are a mix of apps and widgets. That can be seen for example in the e-mail app, how many unread emails you have and who the sender or as the subject is, without opening the app, what I call progress! In addition, you have the option, for example to create a group or a WhatsApp WhatsApp chat also directly on the home screen.
++ The tiles / Tiles can be also provided with an individual background image. In the end, one defined for the startup menu background is then seen behind the transparent tiles. This then moves as you move a little slower than this, which can be seen depending on the position on the home screen, a different area of the background image.
++ Also positive is of course the price of around 130, you get a superfluid Windows Phone 8.1. with a good processing. Sure, at the price of course you have to cut back, so lacking eg a flashlight.
++ Perfectly integrated course are the Microsoft products or Mircosoft functions such as: Outlook, OneDrive, Office, OneNote, Skype and Remote Desktop Connection !!! (The App Store is in Remote Desktop and comes of course from Microsoft.
+ Good, but not perfect, the Info Center (what iOS and Android users also know). Unfortunately, you can specify only four hotkeys for the Info Center. In my case I deposited Bluetooth, brightness, rotation lock and the flight mode in the Info Center.
++ ITunes can still be used. The best for all migrating to Windows Phone, but want to keep iTunes: The Lumia synchronizes completely with your iTunes library, ie all tracks, playback lists, etc. are transferred from iTunes to your phone. You can continue to manage your media via iTunes.
+ Other useful features summarized: application folder, file transfer, data optimization (automated data throttling when the inclusive volume of your contract is nourished the end), memory usage monitoring, great Bildbearbeitungsapp (Nokia Creative Studio, Fresh Paint), Livestock Screen BETA, Nokia Car App.
Unfortunately, there are, but that's always the case, even a few negative points:
-The Volume of the alarm can not be set individually, ie, when the phone is on silent, then one does not hear the alarm. That was and is better resolved in iOS. So unfortunately I have already slept with my Lumia 1 time.
-Also Not great following behavior: If you currently listening to on your Lumia music on headphones and get a phone call, then paused the music. Now you Stoppers from the headphones to better phone can. After you have finished the call, you will pop the music to the ears. In iOS, this has always been paused.
-The FM radio or the UCT function can be used only through headphones, as they act as an antenna. Well, bearable, because it fits so enough music to the internal memory, and when the time was running low, I still have an SD card on board. ;-)
All in all a great smartphone for a Top with two small flaws that I can get over quite. Who still is not convinced so far. In the unlikely event that at some point the battery should go on strike, the Lumia 630, you can change the ;-) My iPhone I have already been sold and I do not regret it
