First access the web interface of the repeater - Variante1:
If the existing DSL modem is set to WLAN (eg Fritzbox 7630) on DHCP, should everything go quite simple. WPS button on the modem and hold until an LED starts to flash and do the same at repeater. Access via [...] has in me will never work. Instead, you look for in the web interface of the Fritz box and finds continued in the "Overview" equal to a link to the web interface of the repeater.
First access the web interface of the repeater - Variante2:
If the existing DSL modem (eg Fritz box 7630) works without DHCP with WLAN and used manual addresses. Only garkeine trouble making the repeater to bring into the WLAN. For the initial configuration you should use the repeater directly to a computer connected via the supplied network cable. Previously should be enabled on the network interface of the computer DHCP. Then you can in the connection details of the network connection to the gateway (IP of the repeater) and in the browser (example [...]). If no Gateway is displayed simply take their own IP and replace the last digit with a "1". So you come here as well to the web interface of the repeater.
My experience with the performance:
- When using the repeater as a LAN bridge or in 5GHz mode, 2 HD channels can stream in parallel, without any lag, frame drops or missing frames (720 @ 1080 @ 50 and 25).
- The switching times are in SD between 1-3 seconds.
- The tuning can also be good times last 15 minutes, just be patient.
- After a channel scan, it may happen that no station can be streamed. Then just restart the repeater (web interface or power off).
- HD runs until 20dB SNR with 30, SD starting at -22db. This I was able to test on various TV cable.
- The supplied TV cable is fairly well shielded and that is also necessary.
Tip:
If it shakes, it is
- On the processing power of the playback device (frame drops can be seen in the VLC See the statistics)
- On long / bad TV cable (you can check in the web interface of the repeater while a station is being streamed: DVBC -> Live TV)
- Possible disturbance in the wireless modems by other nearby (interfering influences can be seen in wireless menu of the Fritz box or the repeater, see)
Tested players: iMac (Mac OSX with VLC / Windows 7 with VLC), Samsung Note 8 (Android 4.4.2) with VLC and Fritz App TV
Scope of supply: Repeater, Tee for cable, cable for TV, cable network, manual
Conclusion:
When it runs, it can not be beat for the price, similar devices cost from 300 EUR.
The only drawback is the connection for the TV cable of soft metal that bends quickly and loosely fitted.
I would recommend the device only people who are enthusiastic about technology and not be afraid to tinker 4-5 hours is set to All (lay cable, configuration, create station lists).
