CardDAV is a process for synchronization of contacts, which is used, inter alia, of ownCloud. Those who wish to make use of Google's services in terms of calendar and contacts online independently, this can about ownCloud use a server service that you can also run it yourself. So you have to trust their data to anyone.
Android brings it however innately support with, so you need an app for that. CardDAV-Sync beta is an app. The device is easily solved, as it just is not possible entirely trivial, you have to know a bunch of data, but this is due to the nature of things. If you have added the account again, you have to worry about anything special anymore and can secure its contact immediately (for example) at ownCloud.
To synchronize the contact details of all the already sufficient for some details such as dates of birth, however, one needs (apparently due to the system), an additional app that's free in a limited version, the full version but cost commitment is from the manufacturer.
Support from the manufacturer is very good, support runs via mail and can also be obtained in German response.
Who uses CardDAV, should look at this app. The synchronization is outstanding and the job is done.
