The UMove HD60 is discrete (29.8 x 50.2 x 41 mm and 58g with battery): barely bigger quun Zippo lighter. Its objective includes a wide-angle lens with a 170 ° HD 12MP CMOS sensor. Unlike GoPro (except the Hero4), it has a 1.5 mini screen to control the settings, to see shots and to play back movies and photos.
It can also be used as a webcam sen on his PC via the USB cable: the rendering is quite surprising but pleasant and the quality is at the rendezvous. It can connect the TV to see his photos via HDMI connector / HDMI mini not included.
It hosts Micro SD / Micro SDHC up to 32GB and records images in .jpg format and videos in QuickTime .mov format (H.264 video compression). We would have preferred getting the .mp4 directly. Indeed, .mov directly download youtube results in a loss of quality and high compression, so we will go through an external software for conversion.
Possible resolutions for photos: 12M (4032x3024), 10M (3648x2736) 8M (3264x2448), 5M (2592x1944), 3MP (2048x1536) 2MHD (1920x1080), VGA (640x480) and 1.3M (1280x960). For videos: 1080fhd (1920x1080 30fps), 720p (1280x720 60fps and 30fps), WVGA (848x480 60fps) and VGA (640x480 60fps).
A progressive digital zoom up to 4x is available but I do not recommend its use because it generates drafts clichés (tingling and uncouth like most digital zooms).
It comes with numerous accessories fixatives, straps, clamps, a waterproof case (up to 30 meters) and a charger.
The removable 900mAh battery provides 60 minutes of autonomy in full HD for about 2 hours or charge via computer or via universal USB charger and Micro USB cable provided (keep the unit off while charging if it is much slower).
The manual of use available in French is complete with clear and precise explanations. It facilitates eg the laying of all accessories via Connection Systems schemes.
Actions on 4 buttons are quick to assimilate and the menu provides access to many options like date marking, choice of quality (higher, normal or economy), the sharpness, white balance (hue) , color (color, B & W or sepia), ISO sensitivity (Auto 400) to prevent noise in low-light environments of the exhibition, stabilization, etc. We also have the opportunity to check-cyclical (record all 3, 5 or 10 minutes on one single file and keep the last) to have a HDR (high dynamic range) and motion detection (to start a record when the target subject is moving).
MY TESTS:
Jai tested with Transcend Premium 200x 16GB MicroSDHC (30Mb / s class 10) here: there are no jerks, images and videos are sharp and i was impressed with the excellent quality of 1080p videos taken outdoors. As soon against quon uses lUmovE in the dark, very dark places abound too (diminuable increasing Liso), even if the illuminated areas are clearly visible and noise. Preferably used this outdoor camera.
CONCLUSION
The UmovE is an excellent camera available at low cost, perfect for those not wanting to invest in a GoPro to 700. It provides dexcellents fluids clichés especially taken outdoors. I only regret the limited choice of the owner .mov format for video files, completely obsolete by the hour democratization of mp4. Lexploitation the .mov is mostly reserved for Apple device users and that format is no longer the web reference for many years (cétait the case in 1998!).
