My Phone / Tablet history of the last years: Blackberry Bold, Samsung Wave, BlackBerry Torch, Galaxy Tab 10.1, IPAD. 3
The latter I have paid 2 weeks before the get - beautiful part, especially with the Smart Cover. The design / look and feel is nice and some Apple-specific apps are probably terrific. (Had only "53" tested - great!). However, I went the known weaknesses soon on my nerves (connectivity only through iTunes, no expandable memory, 16GB Wifi version without GPS). In addition, I can not open the downloaded apps because of a bugs - is probably a workaround, but annoying nonetheless. The part I'll probably leave my daughter. But now back to Note 2 - is supposed to be no iPad review.
I was looking for a device that skillfully bridges the gap between Tabs u. Smartphone suggests, since I use my Tab VA for Audio Books, Ebooks and Internet. Also, the device should have a very good GPS features.
I've been thinking a year ago long zuzulegen the score 1. At that time, however, I could not resist, the Note 2 no longer. Now that I have a few days have heavily used the part, I can say that my requirements are fully and completely fulfilled.!
For size: Of course, one of the dimensions of the unit should be aware of in advance. The size separates to me therefore as a point of criticism from, since I consciously decide for, with all its advantages and disadvantages. Also size is relative: For a phone that Note 2 is large for a tablet, however, small and compact.
I will express less to the technical specifications / details, but take more on the important for me Key points:
Design, haptics, I find the design very well done (titanium gray). The device makes a very sophisticated look - everything seems all of a piece. Due to the dominant displays the Note 2 is very flat. The battery cover more mE not "cheap". However, the back is very smooth, which is why I will soon get me an appropriate envelope. The physical home button I find very useful (others prefer a capacitive button like the Galaxy Nexus).
The build quality is top-notch - the housing very rigid.
-OS / Software: The software presents itself as a unified whole. Everything takes liquid into one another and presents itself extremely mature. The combination of Samsung-specific software with Jelly Bean harmonizes very well.
Beautiful I also find the contextual TouchWiz window: With S-Pen-use headphone use, visit abroad (the 3 situation I've experienced are) in each case opens einspezifisches window with corresponding features - nice!
-Performance: Beyond reproach.
-GPS: Sat-Fix is made within seconds (the "fastest" GPS that I have ever experienced). The positioning is very accurate. I have Navigon Europe allowed myself to fully navigate offboard can.
Display: Excellent - nice and big, sharp, crisp, rich in detail, high contrast - what more could you want?
Camera: For me perfectly adequate (Scan with DSLR / System camera) for snapshots and videos. The setting possibilities are numerous. Especially interesssant I find the video slow motion function - looks cool!
-S-Pen plus associated software: Perhaps the highlight of the note 2. The handwriting recognition is the best that I have ever experienced. The accompanying software S-Note is very well thought out and perfectly integrated into the system. I am writing now mostly with the stylus.
Air-View is also a useful feature.
-Multimedia: Top - va "perspective" of the video via S-Pen is cool and helpful!
-Battery Life: - Tuesday evening - After very intensive use (including navigation) since Monday morning, the battery is now at 13%.
-Mutliwindow (After update available): Impressive and absolutely no delay - Friends of multitasking will be delighted..
-Other Nice features: Smart Stay, unlocking by facial recognition, muting when the unit lying down pointing with the display facing downwards.
The wealth of functions is - as already mentioned in another review - overwhelming. However, I mean that in absolute positive sense! Of course you have to deal with it according to everything set up the way it fits one individually. I am glad that I have this opportunity individualization.
Those who do not want to do, should mE come well-prepared for the basic configuration. Everything is logically placed and set - you can start immediately.
Criticisms:
-S-Voice and Google Voice: One of the two would have been enough. For me, the speech recognition is more of a gimmick.
-Offline Voice control: Apparently not possible with Google Voice. Google Voice only supports offline voice input.
-In Any test I have read that you can convert text using OCR 2 photographed with the note. So far I have not discovered the feature. Can maybe someone here to help?
All in all, I have acquired the Note 2 my absolute desire smartphone / Smartlet / phablet ...!

Update after 3 weeks of intensive use:
I am still very excited about my Note 2!
The unit combines for me Telephony, automotive and tablet.
GPS performance is really impressive.
Navigon Europe I can highly recommend. I've used both the pedestrian and car mode. Is neatly integrated into the system. So I find it beautiful, for example, that the music is automatically runtergerregelt from MP3 players with navigation information.
Apropos: Poweramp as MP 3 players I can also highly recommend: The sound is exceptionally well - the bass is awesome!
An envelope should not be ignored because of the smooth back, like I had to even out fairly.
Mir is the machine actually slipped out of my hands: From the waist Note 2 is flown on cobblestones, first on the back before it lay there with the display facing downwards!
I saw already a total loss in my mind!
Result: scratches on the back cover that you can hardly see (if it bothers me, I will replace the shell), and a scratch across the width of the screen (2/3 width) that can be seen only in a certain light and not can ability to sense.
What else: any "battle scars"!
I have a matt film attached, through the scratch is no longer visible.
I probably had a blessing in disguise - but even this crash test has the score 2 passed with flying colors!
Incidentally, the update I have completely created with the S-pen!

Hombebutton: If a reaction rate of the Home button to slowly appears: The reason is that S-Voice is triggered by double-clicking the Home button. Since the Note 2 is waiting for the 2nd click for S-Voice (could be that you want to start S-Voice), it does not respond immediately to the first click. You can turn off the start S-Voice by Hombebutton in the system - and the Home button reacts much faster:
Start S-Voice -> Disable "Open Home" key -> Preferences.
Lighting duration of the capacitive Menu and rewind buttons: Mir was a period too short. About
Settings -> Display -> Backlight Timeout Touchkey
I have this increased to 6 seconds.
