We have moved from an apartment in a house recently. Because the stairs should be made naturally childproof (our little one is not quite two). I however did not want to drill into the banister, there had to be a terminal grid, and also the default width to 90cm did not fit with us. The door grille came directly the day after ordering and was examined and assembled directly from me. The package is in addition to the door grating also the mounting hardware in the form of four screw threads with temple wall at, and four to be screwed to the wall plastic holder. The latter are intended to ensure better strength, which I left off but with us (since I did not intend to drill). Rounding out the package yet with two inserts for extension of the door curtain. The Actual grille is approx 68,5cm wide, the extensions 6.5 and 13cm. With things the removable wall temples can be as smooth openings up to 1m width block (97cm with us). Since the lattice is interrupted when open at the top so, it also made a somewhat wobbly impression, which was exacerbated by the fact that the door does not close up for me. In the installed condition but sufficient pressure is built up when everything is stable and firm. The door closes wonderful and must be back 'exempt', so that the door can be opened at the top of the handle. Even with so much observation it will take ehr little alone physically able are to open the door. Safety: I was aware in advance that the stability can be compromised without the mounting points to be screwed. However, I can find no restrictions. Certainly the grid do not withstand, but that it does not have to also. I'm happy when my daughter does not come to the stairs. And she manages with rumturnen the grid and drag not to disturb the grid even 1mm. Oh yes, one side is a brick wall at the other side of a beam (wood) from the banister, which indeed is not looks really as stable as masonry on both sides with us.
