Appearance: Its sophisticated housing in brushed stainless steel and the clear design in professional look makes it the jewel in our kitchen. Even the base appears in the stainless steel look. The bluish glow-in operating water level is another eye-catcher. You could discuss why this is now placed under the handle and the reading of the charge is thus somewhat limited. But it has the advantage that it is also suitable for left-handers.
Function: The cooking time seems very short, unlike our old AEG kettle. Immediately after the water boils, the lighting of the water level indicator and a short ringing sound disappears. This is very handy if you are not located in close to the kettle. The lid opens easily and attenuated by pressing a button on the handle. I have tried many other kettle in this respect: Most covers must open directly to be hoisted on the lid and one needs the other hand. Often the covers are very hakelig. The filled Gastroback kettle is through the metal housing heavier than a kettle with plastic housing. The handle is very comfortable to hold, so that the higher weight is not a problem. This is also supported by the non-slip coating. The brushed stainless steel case is contrary to our fears not sensitive to dirt and can maintain easily by wiping immediately after use may water splashes.
Tip: give from time to time a few drops of cooking oil on a soft cloth and wipe down the stainless steel. The kettle will look as good as new!
Conclusion: The Gastroback kettle Advanced is not exactly cheap. Who but a stylish design, good functionality and high-quality technology attaches great importance, is thus properly served. If you, like us, the kettle several times a day and used considering the price over the years, this is not primarily for me.
Supplement September 2012:
Now we use the kettle already 3 1/2 years and at least 2 times a day. There are even now still nothing to complain about. Since we have very hard water, we have to descale the kettle from time to time. We do this in the heat we just cheap vinegar in WK. This and the above external care it stays like new and a jewel in our kitchen. We have been buying up to now does not regret.
