Confused by the quite divergent reviews I have long hesitated to buy me this printer (not on Amazon, because it was the time of purchase from Amazon is not available). After 2 months experience now I regret this choice in any way - the photo print is really excellent for an amateur device - the color management of the printer is first class - brilliant lifelike colors and without further calibration. (A printer calibration is carried out in the near future, experiences are then communicated). To be fair, I must say, however, that I almost exclusively on Canon Platinum prints paper and of course Canon original cartridges used - saving here, I find useless - "dozen images" I let print market with a KODAK Print Terminal in DM. If at various reviews, the high price of genuine Canon cartridges is criticism I can understand only partially. Of course, these are expensive, but that is not specific to Canon, this pricing policy operate all producers, they do not deserve indeed to the printers, but the consumables - fatal, but not to change. I think it's still wrong to divert its an expensive printer on cheap ink, you give away so needlessly quality and risked Garantierverlust. If you really want complain about the printer that affects the text printing. This is slow and the print quality is slightly worse than that of expensive HP printers. This fact was aware before buying and I have taken them into account, as the focus for me is in the photo printing and here Canon is definitely better (at least this is my subjective impression after pressure from many photos on DIN A4) The scan quality (reflective originals) is fine, only the OCR recognition leaves something to be desired, but maybe I was doing something wrong. Negatives or slides I have not been scanned with the device, so I can report about anything yet. From my perspective, I can issue a strong buy recommendation for the printer, for me that true value for money absolutely.
