Hardware:
- Somewhat shaky, but overall the effect, by the way quite heavy, processed equipment clean; on the shiny surface you can see every speck of dust; after all, is the one indication of how it will look like over time inside, if you do not regularly cover or dusting
- The matter of the two paper trays is great; especially that the "standing" in the upper paper tray (for example, photo paper) is always centered; the main paper tray bottom is covered - I think are important
- The connections are, as usual, to achieve fiddly, but since one must also once ran; After all the cables are behind not practically out
- CD printing tray is available, as USB front connection (I have not yet used)
Software:
- The software allows extensive settings for page and color management
- Fine: settings made can be saved with selectable levels of detail
- Recommended: just for photo printing, the preview should be enabled here do not waste money "sprayed" by misprints is
- Color Profiles: While there are plenty, but the average person can with the cryptic names of Canon hardly anfangern something; after prolonged trial and error, I have to thank all the equipment for sRGB decided (printer, camera, screen, Photoshop); large differences in the color display (see below), however, I could not see
Print speed:
- Photo: here is the printer is in my view fabulously fast
- Standard text on plain paper, the pages come quickly out of the printer
- Lead time: here I am not out yet; Sometimes it is a few seconds going after you start the print job, other times it takes one minute to loose the printer itself berappelt (total of the devaluation)
Print quality:
- Black text: In my view, in standard mode a perfect typeface; a laser (still use a black / white laser) makes minimal at best better
- Colored text: analog, slightly frayed (minimally)
- Charts: both black and colored smooth edges already in standard quality
- Photos: Here I am not entirely satisfied; not that would be the quality bad, but there is a substantial reddish and overall the prints come too dark; that's at all - including the original photo papers, such as the mitglieferten, Canon - so; you can adjust the brightness, something Red remove (and then stronger blue in buying take) and the new settings but save the yellow of the egg is not yet the; the attempts to find the right shade eventually cost money
Choice of printer paper:
- Does not belong directly to the printer: I had stacks of HP Printing Paper (Glossy, Premium, everyday ...) and at all - especially in the low "everyday" paper - see the ink runs and the prints stained (premium, glossy) to cruel (everyday) from. That's a shame, because of all the cheap paper from HP with the HP printers has brought considerable quality - tough luck, because with Canon me no similar paper would be known
- On Epson photo paper and selbt the cheap "Tip Glossy Paper" from the Real there were no problems - except for the described color / brightness theme
- Of course on plain paper should no photos will be printed in high quality, otherwise the paper curl with extended drying times
Printing costs:
- Here I still need their own experiences; in tests, it is probably "still good"
Conclusion:
For everyday a good and fast printer with very decent print quality. Who is exclusively occasional photo printing with accurate color goes, I recommend the market again to further analyze (here there are allegedly more suitable by Epson with higher cost per page)
