I bought the hard disk in order to obstruct in my Apple Time Capsule A1470. This was not a problem, because several instructions on eg iFixit show quite clearly how is to open the Time Capsule housing. When installed in this case should also be noted yet that the rubber dampers on the plate then rests in the housing upper side, have to be cut, as this plate ausreizt the standard height of a 3.5 inch HD completely. This is with a sharp knife and caution but easily doable. After the plate was installed, I thought it does not work because it is almost not audible, unlike the original Seagate Barracuda. There is neither a start nor a head rattling noise, nothing. Also the TC GeƤuse is not even felt warm. The conversion went without a hitch, however, the plate was initially displayed by the Airport utility to be defective. The Fear not because on the same screen and the button is repaired, on which you have to click and 15 seconds later 6 new Terra bytes are shown as available. To copy the "old" data from the original disk to the new disk, it is enough to them to the TC USB port using eg this adapter: LogiLink AU0013 USB adapter, USB 3.0 - SATA 6G (qid = 1429263145 & sr = 8-14 & keywords = ATA + USB + 3.0) to connect. OSX (10.10.3) will also show this as a Time Machine drive or drive and you can easily transfer all the data. As much as to say: 6TB WD 3.5 inch SATA3 WDBMMA0060HNC Manufacturer number: WDBMMA0060HNC-ERSN
