Since the name "Polar" I was a phrase in the heart rate monitors while ago, I looked around now time for it and I came across the FT4. The price I initially left something aside, I wanted this time a good and reliable heart rate monitor and was ready even more for it to invest.
A bit hard to me much more the color selection. It's just a typical criterion of women that the part should not only work but also look good :-)
There is a choice so were dark blue, silver, pink and bronze. After a little back and forth whether silver or bronze, I then decided to go for the latter.
3 days upon ordering the shipment arrived then at me.
*** Content and commissioning ***
Thus, the box contains the heart rate monitor, the chest strap with removable sensor, and a manual.
The clock is very feminine, so the tape is very thin and female :-) the bronze color in reality more beautiful than depicted.
The menu of the clock is quite simple. The required data are automatically retrieved after 1 switching.
First you have to enter the language, time and date. This is followed by the personal information such as birthday, height, weight, sex.
*** Functions of your watch ***
The functions of the FT4 are fairly self-explanatory, so that the already meager manual is almost not needed. Nevertheless, more details would have been nice.
With regard to the actual functions, the clock has a light button and a back button on the left side.
Right you can choose through the menu and change the first input data (time and personal data), start the training or search for stored training files and delete.
As with any heart rate monitor, a beep is emitted when a certain pulse (eg HR max). As previously reported other buyers, this signal is very quiet. Unfortunately you are right. Pity! It would have been if it quieter for this function a louder / beautiful. Would be setting.
*** The chest strap ***
The chest strap consists of 2 parts. Once the resizable Strechband and the actual heart rate monitor, which can be attached by 2 snaps on the belt.
Like it very well because the sensor can thus be quite easily removed and, for example, is also suitable for special sports bras, which in the inside have a pocket. The chest strap is then not absolutely necessary.
*** Training ***
If you're strapped in the heart rate monitor and the chest strap, the training mode can be started. The sensors and the chest strap should be humidified to körperanliegenden page something about the signals to be transmitted better.
The heart rate monitor then determines the pulse. Then the training can be started.
Now you can choose between the following views during the training select: only pulse, only training time + time, only heart rate zone.
As already mentioned, are the clock will beep when certain pulse ranges are achieved. This tone, however, is very low.
A nice and handy feature is that the heart rate monitor, if it is held at the sensor of the chest belt during training, will automatically display only the time. So I am not forced to switchen if interested me the time back and forth between the views.
Upon completion of training, the training will be saved as a file and can be afterwards retrieved or deleted if necessary.
In the gym, the heart rate monitor communicates with the way our cardio equipment, ie the pulse on my clock appears on the display of the crosstrainer / ergometer. In our devices, however, it is also extensively that it is "Polar Heart Ready". Definitely handy and a plus! Especially since the hand sensors are quite inaccurate on the devices themselves.
*** Conclusion ***
Since I have only a few days the clock and in training also only able to test 2 times, I can not say yet whether the price of 60 EUR is really justified. But only the processing and the elegant design are worth something.
The functions are quite sufficient (at least for my needs), the chest strap is also comfortable to wear under bra and works very well. No signal loss or the like.
100% buy recommendation!

Edit from 03:06:14
Now I had a few months to test the Polar heart rate monitor on and fairly regularly. I've always wanted the currently doing workout, because I had a little work on my stamina and keep my pulse in mind.
She still works properly, a few times I have, however, noticed that the clock could not get a signal even though the transmitter / receiver were close beinander.
Sometimes the chest strap measures also not work properly because I eg loud display a pulse of 140 and have 160 in the next second, though I walk evenly.
I'll continue to keep an eye on whether aggravated this problem or if it was just lying in mind that the chest had the "wrong" contact with the Haute.
